Free Online Cooking Class: How Foods Fight Diabetes

On Tuesday, August 6, 2024, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time, join Deb Czech on Zoom for a free online cooking class featuring plant-based dishes that help fight diabetes and improve overall health. The class is hosted by MVP Health Care as part of the Living Well program.

This class—designed for people with diabetes, prediabetes, or a family history of or risk factors for developing diabetes—explains why healthy, plant-based meals can help to manage diabetes and attain a healthy weight. You will see a cooking demonstration of low-fat, plant-based dishes you can enjoy at home. An easy-to-understand video with medical experts from the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine will review plant-based nutrition studies related to diabetes. Class materials will include recipes and useful resources related to plant-based eating and diabetes. Participate in this online class to learn how simple changes to what you eat can improve your health and overall quality of life.

Registration for this free class will be via MVP Health Care’s website beginning in late June. You do not need to be a member of MVP Health Care to participate in the class. The class is open to the public.
