Free Cooking Class: Plant-Based Eating for Heart Health

On Monday, April 15, 2024, join Deb Czech for a free cooking class featuring plant-based dishes for heart health, hosted by Guilderland (NY) Public Library.

Plant-based meals benefit heart health because they contain no dietary cholesterol, very little saturated fat, and abundant fiber. Find out how you can manage your heart health and blood pressure with a plant-based style of eating.

In this class you will:

  • See a short video with medical experts covering plant-based nutrition studies related to cardiovascular disease and high blood pressure
  • Discover how to get started easily with foods you already know
  • Participate in a hands-on cooking demonstration to build knowledge and skills
  • Learn how to make three low-fat, plant-based recipes you can enjoy at home
  • Receive useful resources related to plant-based eating and heart health

The food we eat has a significant impact on our health, other living creatures, and our planet. Medical research and studies indicate that a low-fat, plant-based diet can be very effective in improving blood sugar levels, promoting weight loss, lowering cholesterol, managing blood pressure, and reducing inflammation. This way of eating has been proven to prevent, manage, and in some cases reverse chronic diseases such as heart disease, hypertension, some forms of cancer, type 2 diabetes, some autoimmune diseases, obesity, and other medical conditions.

REGISTER HERE on the library’s website for this free cooking class on April 15, 2024, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm Eastern Daylight Time.
