Free Plant-Based Cooking Class: Kickstart Your Health

On Thursday, April 25, 2024, join Deb Czech for a free, hands-on cooking class featuring plant-based dishes for overall health and weight loss, hosted by Ballston (NY) Community Public Library.

The food we eat has a significant impact on our health, other living creatures, and our planet. Medical research and studies indicate that eating low-fat, plant-based meals can be very effective in improving blood sugar levels, promoting weight loss, lowering cholesterol, managing blood pressure and heart health, and reducing inflammation.

In this class you will:

  • Watch a short video with medical experts discussing plant-based nutrition basics
  • Discover how to get started easily with foods you already know
  • Participate in a hands-on cooking demonstration to build knowledge and skills
  • Sample three low-fat, plant-based recipes you can enjoy at home
  • Receive useful resources related to plant-based eating and its benefits

Plant-based meals benefit your overall health because they contain no dietary cholesterol, very little saturated fat, and abundant fiber. (And, yes, you can get plenty of protein, too!) This way of eating has been proven to prevent, manage, and in some cases reverse chronic diseases such as heart disease, hypertension, some forms of cancer, type 2 diabetes, some autoimmune diseases, obesity, and other medical conditions.

REGISTER HERE on the library’s website for this free cooking class on April 15, 2024, from 6:00 to 7:15 pm Eastern Daylight Time.
