FOOD FOR LIFE | Plant-Based Cooking & Nutrition Class


Fall 2020: Thursday morning, October 15 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.

The Food for Life: Cancer Project classes include information about how certain foods and nutrients work to promote or discourage cancer growth, along with demonstrations of simple recipes that can be easily recreated at home.

CLASS TOPICS

In Discovering Dairy Alternatives, you will learn about the wonderful benefits of avoiding dairy products as well as an array of possible dairy product alternatives that provide ample calcium and other nutrients for a healthful diet.

  • Learn how dairy consumption results in a rise in the amount of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) in the bloodstream, elevation of which has been shown to be a catalyst for the growth of breast and prostate cancer cells.
  • Find out how dairy products can interfere with other important nutrients being utilized by the body.
  • Hear from Dr. Neal Barnard in a video highlighting various studies that support the impact of plant-based nutrition. 
  • Watch a live cooking demonstration with healthful, plant-based recipes you can make at home.

Hi, I’m Deb Czech, founder of Planted Platter. I’ve enjoyed excellent health on a plant-based diet since 2012 and would like to share with you what I’ve learned about cooking at home, dining out, and optimizing vegan nutrition. I am a licensed Food For Life instructor and a vegan cooking coach based in Saratoga Springs, New York, serving the upstate Capital Region.

Food for Life is an award-winning nutrition education and cooking program that provides an innovative approach to diet-related chronic diseases. CLASS DETAILS

Online Classes Are Convenient
Due to COVID-19, all classes are taught online via Zoom. Join from wherever you are! Use a tablet, laptop, or desktop computer for the best experience, though mobile phone also works.

Receive Class Information via Email
All registered participants will be emailed the Zoom link, plus copies of handouts and recipes, a few hours in advance of each class.

Registration Deadline
Online registration ends 12 hours before each class. If you want to sign up within 12 hours of the beginning of a class, please call 518.350.4080.

Transfers/Credits for Future Classes
If you are unable to attend a class, you may transfer your spot to someone or you can hold onto a credit for a future class or private coaching session

Refund Policy
Planted Platter will refund your class registration price less a $3 processing fee up until 7 days before the class. Within 7 days of the class, you can receive a transfer or credit to use in the future.

Cancellation Policy
In the rare situation where Planted Platter needs to cancel a class, all participants will be notified via email and will receive a full refund.
